Cheadle’s ‘Miles Ahead’ reaches crowdfunding goal

Actor Don Cheadle’s crowdfunding campaign to raise funding for “Miles Ahead,” the Miles Davis biopic he’s filming entirely in Cincinnati, has surpassed its goal.

Cheadle hoped to raise $325,000 on Indiegogo between June 3 and July 10. By mid-afternoon on Thursday, the campaign had raised $334,821crowdfunding advertising

.Supporters of Cheadle’s passion project will receive perks for their giving, including opportunities to hear music from the movie in advance, DVDs, private streaming links, T-shirts and an advance screening of the film with Cheadle in Cincinnati.

Cheadle began filming the movie, which he will direct and star in, on Monday. The actor said he has already spent “a lot of his own money” on the project, which also received about $2.4 million in Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credits.kickstarter project
